Take the porch back. Honestly.

Barrier treatment timed to the season, breeding sites hunted down every visit, and straight talk about what’s possible this close to the marsh — which is a dramatic reduction, not a fantasy.

The signs you already noticed.

  • You can’t take the trash out at dusk without donating blood
  • The porch, patio, or pool deck sits unused from May through October
  • Kids come in from the yard covered in welts
  • Swarms rising out of the shrubbery every time you walk past
  • Standing water you can’t eliminate — a pond, a ditch, low spots that hold rain
  • Neighbors closer to the marsh have it worse — and you know it

How the visit runs.

Map the breeding sites. Every visit starts with the water audit — gutters, saucers, toys, tarps, low spots, the neighbor’s forgotten boat. Seven days of standing water is a generation; we break the cycle at the source.

Barrier where they rest. Treatment goes where adult mosquitoes actually spend the day — the underside of foliage, shaded shrubs, the cool side of the structure. Not a fog cloud for show.

Timing on the calendar. Monthly through the season keeps the barrier fresh as pressure rebuilds. You’ll know the schedule and the price before the season starts.

Why Savannah is mosquito country

Heat, humidity, tidal marsh, and summer storms on a weekly rotation — the lowcountry is a mosquito nursery with a historic district inside it. Salt-marsh species can fly miles inland, and the container-breeders hatch in a bottle cap. A thunderstorm on Sunday is a hatch the following weekend. The storm-cycle post explains the seven-day math that drives the whole season.

What treatment actually does

Barrier treatment kills and repels the adults resting in your landscape — the shaded foliage, the underside of leaves, the cool zones around the house. Pressure drops sharply within a day and stays down for three to four weeks, until new mosquitoes drift in and the residual fades. Pair that with breeding-site discipline — dumping, draining, treating water that can’t be drained — and the yard becomes usable. That’s the honest deliverable: usable, not sterile.

What we won’t sell you

No service on earth takes a marsh-side yard to zero mosquitoes, and anyone who promises it is selling weather. What we sell is a porch you can sit on at dusk, a yard the kids can play in, and a predictable schedule that keeps it that way. If your lot backs to open marsh, you’ll hear the honest ceiling before you spend a dollar — and the plan will be built to get as close to it as chemistry allows.

Straight talk: The most effective mosquito tool you own is a five-minute Sunday walk: tip the saucers, empty the toys, unclog the gutter elbow, dump the birdbath. Do that between visits and the treatment does the rest.

Questions about mosquito control.

How long does a mosquito treatment last?+
Three to four weeks per application in typical conditions — heavy rain shortens it. Monthly service through the season keeps the barrier intact.
Is it safe for pollinators and my garden?+
Treatments target resting zones, applied when pollinators are least active, and flowering plants are avoided. Your tech walks the property with you and marks the no-spray areas first.
Can you treat for a one-time event?+
Yes — parties, weddings, and backyard events get single treatments timed a day or two ahead. Same written-price rule applies.
What about sand gnats?+
Different insect, honest answer: yard treatment barely touches them. The full explanation is on this post — read it before anyone sells you a gnat service.
